2019 Kunsthalle wien Exhibition
It draws on radical feminist and techno-feminist theories from the 1970s until now that criticised and revised the nexus trying new technologies and techno science to patriarchal ideas. The works of the artists go beyond critique to think and enact other kinds of knowledge, skills, and bodily practices regarding the use as well as production of (new) technologies.
Hysterical Mining turned its library and discursive zone at Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz into a space for collectively thinking about the future of feminism, listening, talking, reading, moving and making. Digitalisation is not an expert-only issue but something we should all take part in developing and changing. From lectures and performances to a film program, artists’ presentations, readings, concerts and workshops: visitors find various opportunities to be part of technophile and feminist journeys through music, media, literature, cinema, dance and theory.
