The catalogue Isa Genzken "Oil" is the official publication of the German contribution to the 2007 Venice Biennale.
This catalogue was published on the occasion of Isa Genzken’s exhibition at the German Pavilion, 52nd International Art Exhibition.
For more than 30 years, the German artist Isa Genzken has been amassing a body of work in sculpture, installation, photography, collage and film. The title of this book and of her installation at the German pavilion plays with the word’s associations as a global and globally contested resource, through a series of sculptural installations invoking in particular America’s dependence on oil.
Nicolaus Schafhausen (ed.)
includes a conversation between Isa Genzken and Nicolaus Schafhausen, as well as texts by Liam Gillick, Juliane Rebentisch, Vanessa Joan Müller and Willem de Rooij.
